New Transition Worcester Tree Group

Submitted by
Not much to look at but the photo represents the first step in a new journey for Transition Worcester. At our September 2019 Core Group meeting it became obvious that we had the birth of a new interest group. The Tree Group will do all things to promote the care and planting of trees and what you see in the picture are the first few seeds that have been gathered for the tree nursery. This is a long term project as seeds will need 3 or 4 years before they are trees ready for planting. We are also hoping to be able to source plants from the Woodland Trust when they’re next available. These are just two of the things we can do to get more trees planted. Like all our interest groups the tree group is only as strong as the people involved so if you are interested or have a passion for trees give us your ideas and/or get in touch about joining in with this project. The group’s first event will be a seed collection day at the Fold at Bransford on Thurs 3rd October 2019 from 10am. Please do get in touch if you’d like tot take part.
