Launch of the Worcester Food Rescue
Worcester Food Rescue
The Old North Stables CIC (part of Transition Worcester) is happy to announce the start of the “Worcester Food Rescue”. Worcester Food Rescue volunteers have started collecting surplus food four nights a week from a Worcester supermarket and distributing it to local charities, reducing waste food and helping local charities in their daily operations. The charities benefiting from this so far are St. Pauls Hostel, St. Richards Hospice, YMCA and Acorns Children’s Hospice, all of which get a donation once a week on average.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with food collection and delivery. To find out more contact us foodrescue-coord@oldnorthstables.org.uk or via www.oldnorthstables.org.uk We’ll also be holding a talk/ discussion about this exciting new project at the Transition Worcester AGM on 13th June.
