Transport Group meetings

Our meetings are not held at a regular time each month but on evenings (normally Thursdays but not always!) to suit the majority of the members. If you would like to come along, please check our calendar for details of the next meeting, or alternatively email us on transitionworcester@gmail.com

We are still quite a small group and would love to have more members join us.

About the Transport Group

This group focuses on reducing reliance on the car and making the transition to alternatives such as walking, cycling and public transport. As fuel prices continue to increase, this makes sense for our pockets as well as our planet.

Objectives for the group include:

  • Promotion of existing alternatives such as walking and cycling routes in Worcester, public transport options and car share schemes.
  • Encouraging and supporting improvements to our transport system.

Please contact us if you’d like to get involved (through the contact us form, or on transitionworcester@gmail.com).

History of the Transport Group:

Launch meeting: Thursday 25th February 2010, 7.30pm, Guildhall, Worcester. Putting together plans for the Group to help make Worcester’s transport more sustainable.

Two Wheels are Better than Four. 20+ people attended the first transport group meeting in November 2009. The focus was on cycling, with lots of sharing of information on what’s already available to help Worcester’s cyclists and ideas on how to encourage more people to cycle more often.
