Worcester Food Rescue Meeting at the Pump House Centre (Gheluvelt Park), Saturday 31st March 2018, 1pm till 2.30.
This meeting is to update our volunteers on our progress and forthcoming plans. If you’re thinking about volunteering and would like to find out more and talk to our existing volunteers you’d be very welcome to join us.
Worcester Food Rescue continues to go from strength to strength in endeavours to divert surplus supermarket food to local good causes. Worcester Food Rescue collects surplus food from several Worcester supermarkets and Pret a Manger and distributes it to local charities, thus reducing waste food and helping local charities in their daily operations. Since the start in April 2017 we have collected and distributed more than £17,500 worth of surplus food in Worcester alone.We have now started collecting from Aldi in St. Johns, these donations will enable us to save even more food from ending up in landfill and help even more charities at the same time.
