Support the plans for an Earthship in Worcester
The Hive, a environmental youth volunteering group, is a fantastic group for teenagers to get involved with green issues – and solutions. They have been developing plans to build an innovative green “earthship” in the city for use as a community centre, youth volunteering base and training facility. The project has come a long way in five years and now has outline plans, a potential site and some funding.
However, they need more money and this is where you can help just by voting…. British Gas with a number of other partners have set up ‘ENERGYSHARE’, a community fund to support projects with renewable energy installations. Groups must register and drum up support on the energyshare website, with the groups with the most support then going through to the next round of selection. The deadline for the initial ‘voting’ is now the end of June (30 June 2011) – recently extended. The Earthship project is an ideal avenue for a share of this fund.
So…what are you waiting for? The Hive has registered with Energyshare so please follow this link, register with the website and then click ‘support this group’. By doing this, your support for the Earthship project will be recorded and hopefully, will mean the group can proceed to the next round of selection.
The group would be really grateful if you could encourage other people to vote as well – increasing the likelihood of an Earthship coming to Worcester.
This message has come from the young people who run the Hive group.

Looking good, do we know where it is going?
Looks a splendid ambition. But change the name while it’s still in the early stages: The Hive is the name of the new Public / university library building in the Butts.
I have to agree, a more dynamic name would make a better statement.
I’m looking to do something very similar in Scotland , do you have more details ?
